A new package of measures is adopted next Monday per danger zone to put an end to the inexplicable appearance of coronavirus cases especially in Attica which is at level 3 and which is pushing the health system because of the negative balance of intubations.
The map presented by Deputy Minister of Civil Protection Nikos Hardalias and Minister of Digital Government Kyriakos Pierrakakis includes four levels of precautionary measures and rules for each regional unit in the country. It includes the 74 regional units of Greece in the levels of health security and protection with corresponding sets of measures that apply to all.
More specifically, they are included in the following levels:
Level 1 – Readiness (green)
Level 2 – Surveillance (yellow)
Level 3 – Enhanced surveillance (orange)
Level 4 – Increased risk (red)
Determining the level of risk in each area depends on whether epidemiological variables tend to increase or decrease, such as the number of cases per 100,000 population, health system indicators (for example, single beds and beds occupied, Intensive care) and the qualitative characteristics of the epidemiological situation in each area, as reflected by the tracing data but also by the correlation of cases and their contacts. 17 criteria are analyzed and evaluated daily to determine the alarm level for each zone.
The implementation of the measures will be at the level of the regional unit, except in exceptional circumstances justifying exceptions within the regional unit, that is to say at the municipal level, according to the protocols of the Ministry of Health and of Civil Protection.
