France-Turkey relations are on a tight rope because France has recalled its ambassador to Turkey. The French presidency today condemned the “unacceptable” statements by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan who questioned the “Mental Health” of his French counterpart Emanuel Macron because of his treatment of Muslims.

“President Erdogan’s statements are unacceptable. Provocation and rudeness are not a method. We demand that Erdogan change the way he plays his policy because it is dangerous in every way.” We are not engaging in an unnecessary war and we do not accept insults, ”he told the French news agency Elieze, adding that Paris was recalling the French ambassador to Ankara for consultations.

The French presidency also noted “the absence of messages of condolence and messages of support from the President of Turkey after the assassination of Samuel Patti”, the teacher beheaded a week ago during an Islamist attack near his school on the outskirts of Paris.
