Greek Prime Minister to meet French President on September 10.

 

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron in Corsica on September 10 for talks which are expected to include a defense purchase agreement being discussed between the two countries.Sources say Mitsotakis and Macron will work on the details of a deal for Greece’s acquisition of 4.5-generation Rafale jets built by Dassault and  other material.

Mitsotakis met with Defense Minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos, General Chief of the National Defense Staff  Konstantinos Floros and Navy Chief Stylianos Petrakis on Friday to discuss the planned capability upgrade defense of Greece.In addition to the Rafale jets, Greece is also considering acquiring new frigates, according to sources, according to which the prime minister is expected to announce details of the government’s purchase program next weekend.
