In the ever-increasing coronavirus cases, the country has put measures into orbit to limit the spread of the Covid-19 disease. Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management Nikos Hardalias announced the extension of the measures until October 12. So far, in the region of Attica, the following measures are in force:
– The operation of stores of health interest is prohibited from 12 noon up to 5 am the next day.
-Up to 9 people are allowed in indoor and outdoor gatherings. Areas where special distance measures apply, such as health food stores are excluded.
-Concerts suspended in closed and open spaces.
– Screenings in closed cinemas have been suspended.
– The theatrical performances have been suspended.
– A maximum of 20 people is established for weddings, baptisms, funerals.
-The maximum number of people in health store table seats is six.
-In addition, the operation of any type of retail business was suspended from 12:00 midnight to 5:00 a.m the next day, such as kiosks mini markets (including those located inside gas stations), vineyards, tobacco, grocery stores , bakeries, confectionery. Pharmacies, gas stations and vending machines are however excluded except for the supply of alcoholic beverages. Take-out meals, car travel and delivery to restaurants are permitted with the exception of the sale of alcohol.
It is mandatory to use a mask in all closed public and private workplaces, as well as in all open places of assembly, such as squares, bus stops, queues in shops, demonstrations, events of political parties where the rule of distance cannot be observed (1.5 meters).
In addition, the operation of private companies has been temporarily suspended due to the following activities: Bar services provided by a dance center, Services provided by the entertainment center – cabaret or club,
Services provided by a cafe-entertainment center,Services provided by the entertainment center – music hall and Services provided by a nightclub and concert hall services.
Regarding public markets, sellers and consumers are required to use a non-medical protective mask, while in each public market the participation of 50% by category of sellers (producers and professionals respectively) is authorized. The minimum distance between the vendors’ benches is set at three meters, the space between them being free of objects.
For workplaces and employees in general, it was decided:
Teleworking is 40% compulsory for employees in the private and public sector who perform office work or can be done remotely.
-Three waves of movement to and from work for the state: 7 a.m., 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.
-Introduction of flexibility during the arrival and departure of private sector employees in 4 waves, less than 2 hours from the start and end of working hours.
– Scanning of controls and sanctions against employers and employees who do not comply with individual protection measures in the workplace, ie the compulsory use of a mask.
