Without any information, an elderly woman was identified after a fire in the building on the ground floor of Avenue Street, Ambelokipi.
According to initial reports, the fire broke out around 3 a.m. for a reason not yet known.
The smoke “drowned” the whole building, the occupants of the building being trapped in their apartments and trying to organize their evacuation by calling the fire brigade.
Seven fire brigade trucks with 21 firefighters on board rushed to the scene, while another vehicle was used to free the occupants.
The elderly person’s death was found soon after and reportedly caused burns to various parts of her body.
